Recognizing the Roots of Our Desires
Much of what drives us stems from deep-seated emotions that we may not even be aware of. An athlete may strive for success out of fear of not being good enough or fear of losing their career and identity.
In a similar way, an executive or entrepreneur might chase material and financial success out of fear of scarcity, guilt of living up to expectations, or pride in their achievements. These motivations, while powerful, can often lead us to pursue surface-level goals that do not align with our true desires.
The key is to look for the underlying feelings driving your pursuit; Are they driven by fear, guilt, anger, or pride? Understanding the root of your desires can help you align your actions with your true passions and goals.
The Power of Letting Go
When we let go of negativity, pride, fear, guilt, and anger, we unlock our true potential.
This process of releasing allows us to step into our own power, leading to a rapid expansion in our lives, both internally and externally.
We can quite literally surrender into freedom. Freedom to be ourselves, freedom to pursue our innermost desire, freedom to play, freedom to perform at our best and get into the zone. Freedom is the Ultimate State for a Driven Human Being.
When we let go of this negativity, we open ourselves to embracing a state of peace that comes from total acceptance of what is.
The fear of letting go often stems from the conditioning of society that we must 'make' things happen by pure force. But paradoxically, when we let go of the desire & the negative emotion, success actually becomes EASIER because we are in that state of Freedom that allows us to perform at our best.
"Success comes about automatically from knowing where to look. Not what to look for, but where to look. We do not look at what we have, nor at what we do, but at what we are. Once we find within ourselves what we’ve been searching for, we won’t have to bother looking ‘out there.” - David Hawkins
Take time to reflect & recognize the roots of your desires and practice letting go of any negative emotions holding you back.
Surrender into the peace of what is.
To Your Success,
Alec.
